Arsenal are lining up a move for former academy graduate Oguzhan Ozyakup.

The midfielder. who left the Emirates in 2012 for Besiktas has established himself as one of the leading playmaker’s in Turkey.

The Gunners have been following Ozyakup’s progress and according to talkSPORT, Arsene Wenger is plotting a January move for the 25 year-old.

Resigning Ozyakup means Arsenal are prepared to miss out on their 30 per cent sell-on clause they were due to bank if Besiktas sold Ozyakup.

The Turkey international, who is valued at 11m can operate as a box-to-box midfielder or as a No 10.

The Gunners are set to hold on to Mesut Ozil until the end of the season, which could see them delay their move for Ozyakup until the summer.

However, if Wenger has earmarked him as a man to anchor the midfield, it could spell the end for either Francis Coquelin or Mohamed Elneny, who have been used sparingly this term.
