Arsenal face a busy summer in the months ahead and the Gunners will be aiming to keep their key-players at the club, as well as securing the signings they need to improve upon their last campaign.

Arsene Wenger put trust in young players once again this season and the performances of Rob Holding during the back-end of the campaign stood-out, with the £2m signing from last summer shining in a three-man defence.

Holding put in a starring performance in the FA Cup final victory over Chelsea at Wembley, lifting his firth trophy with the Gunners, and Holding is set to be a crucial part of the Arsenal squad for the forthcoming campaign.

As such, The Daily Mirror states Arsenal are ready to hand the 21-year-old a fresh deal worth £25k-a-week that signifies the growing importance of Rob Holding and rewards the England youngster for his fine form.

Holding could become a first-team regular next season, having made 18 first-team matches in his debut season at the Emirates Stadium, and may line-up alongside Shkodran Mustafi and Laurent Koscielny in a three-man defensive line next term.

It signifies a huge turnaround for the youngster, who’s on-duty with the England U21 side this summer, a just 12 months ago he was relegated to League One with Bolton Wanderers.
