Arsenal are plotting a January swoop for Dani Podence – the Olympiacos winger who tormented Tottenham in the Champions League recently.

The Gunners are said to be keeping tabs on Olympiakos star Daniel Podence following his impressive display against rivals Tottenham in the Champions League.

According to Greek publication Sportime, Unai Emery’s side are one of two Premier League clubs making enquiries about the 23-year-old.

Podence was key in his team’s incredible comeback against Tottenham, which came after they went two goals following Harry Kane’s penalty and Lucas Moura’s stunner.

The Gunners splashed out a club-record £72m on Nicolas Pepe this past summer, but the Frenchman has struggled for form so far.

Pepe has just one strike to his name – a penalty against Aston Villa.

It’s not yet certain whether Podence, who is rated at £21m is seen as a replacement for Pepe, but with Henrikh Mkhitaryan farmed off to Roma, another wide man would be ideal.
