According to reports, Arsenal have targeted Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso.
The Espanyol defender has been one of the surprise packages in La Liga this season, earning a call-up to the Spain national team for the first time last November.
Reports suggest Arsenal are tracking the player along with PSG and Bayern Munich
Spanish outlet Sport report that the ex-Real Madrid player is now wanted by the Gunners, who are exploring potential transfer options.
Unai Emery is keen to bolster his defence after a disappointing season at the back.
And with doubts over a number of his players – including defender Shkodran Mustafi – a swoop for the £18million rated Espanyol star could be on the cards.
Hermoso, 23, is adept with the ball at his feet, and has an eye for a pass into midfield. He is left-footed and plays in the left centre back role. It’s perhaps no surprise then that he started his career with Spanish giants Real Madrid who do have a buy-back clause they can initiate.
