According to reports, Arsenal are planning a January swoop for Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan.

The Gunners were suggested to be interested in the Turkey international this summer, but decided against launching an official bid.

Turan has failed to make an impact at Barca since moving from Atletico Madrid in 2015. A ban and injuries have restricted him to just 36 league games.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is already looking to add to his squad in the New Year as he searches for possible replacements for Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. Both players are likely to depart The Emirates in the New Year or at the end of the season with their contract set to expire.

Inside Futbol claim Wenger has earmarked Turan as a prime target and that the club have made contact with Barcelona.

The Spanish giants are willing to sell and the player is also open to a move.
