Both Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in bringing Jerome Boateng to the Premier League this summer, according to reports.

The Bayern Munich defender was linked with a move to the Emirates back in January, but a deal never materialised.

Foot Mercato claim the 31-year-old turned down the Gunners in January before Pablo Mari arrived on loan.

Boateng has largely been used in squad rotation for the Bundesliga champions this season.

And the report adds that the experienced centre-back could be interested in a cut-price move this summer after struggling for game under Hansi Flick.

Mikel Arteta is desperate to strengthen his defence after a shaky season at the back. Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis could be out the door this summer.

Last week, Boateng made headlines when crashing his convertible BMW into a motorway barrier.

Bayern slapped Boateng with a fine for breaking coronavirus lockdown rules, as he left home to visit his ill son.
