Arsenal are said to have watched Turkey’s game against Iceland on Thursday night to watch Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu in action.

Soyoncu started and finished the 0-0 draw as Turkey qualified for Euro 2020, despite being frustrated by Iceland.

According to Turkish newspaper Star, Arsenal scouts would be present at the TT Arena to watch Soyuncu, who has been in impressive form for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season.

Soyuncu has been key to Leicester’s success in this campaign, conceding just eight goals in twelve games in the league. Previous reports in the Turkish press have also linked him with a move to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

He helped the Foxes maintain a clean sheet as they handed Arsenal another Premier League defeat with a 2-0 win last weekend.

It’s quite possible Arsenal are looking to bolster their defence in the January window. However, Leicester will be reluctant to sell their defensive star.
