Arsene Wenger is set to remain at Arsenal for another season despite the club’s woeful run of form, The Daily Mail reports.

The Gunners slipped to sixth position in the Premier League over the weekend and the defeat to West Brom was their fourth in their last five league fixtures- and their sixth in the past nine games across all competitions.

It’s left Arsenal needing a huge improvement after the international break if they are to avoid missing out on Champions League football for the first-time on Wenger but, despite the clear issues and fan frustration, Wenger is set to remain in North London.

It’s reported that Wenger has decided to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium by a further year and the poor form has only pushed the Frenchman closer to penning a new deal, as he’s determined to turn things around.

On top of this, Wenger still has the backing of the majority of the Gunners’ hierarchy and any decision on his future will be mutual. Whilst that means the board could still refuse to extend Wenger’s deal, which expires at the end of the season, the likelihood is they’ll hand him new terms if he wants to stay.
