Arsenal have been linked with a move for Nabil Fekir for months. However, it appears the north Londoners will have to forget about signing the Ligue 1 ace after reports Real Madrid have listed him as a top target.

Fekir was in sensational form for Lyon last season, scoring 18 times and providing 8 assists for his teammates.

The midfielder, who is currently away with France at this summer’s World Cup has also been chased by Liverpool and Manchester United.

Speaking to French television, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas suggested that medical issues were NOT to blame for the collapse of Fekir’s £53m transfer to Anfield just before the start of the World Cup.

“I spoke with Nabil Fekir the day after the night when we decided to stop negotiations with Liverpool.

“He was very calm. I immediately said to him that if he wanted to stay, we could do an extension.

“I’ve said it before, we don’t need to sell.

Gooners, do you still want the club to try their luck? Let us know in the comments…
