According to the Times , Mohamed Elneny is set to leave Arsenal and join Bordeaux in a cut-price deal even though the midfielder would have to take a wage pay-cut.
Elneny fell out of favour at The Emirates last season following the arrivals of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira.
A move to Bordeaux would see him reunite with coach Paulo Sousa, whom he worked with during his time in charge of Basel four seasons ago.
The Egyptian who was signed by Arsene Wenger in January 2016 has made 46 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.
Unai Emery is trying to widen his transfer budget from just £45m, but Elneny, 26, could leave the club for a fee less than the £7m the Gunners paid Basel three-and-a-half years ago.
The North Londoners are being strongly linked linked with moves for Wilfried Zaha, Kieran Tierney and William Saliba this summer.
