Arsenal should snap up these 2 Bundesliga wonderkids in January

Although signing youngsters this January transfer window is probably not on the top of Arsene Wenger’s priorities, snapping up hot prospects before other clubs do is important, and January is the perfect opportunity to tempt a wonderkid to Arsenal.

The Gunners have a large injury list right now, so an offer for a youngster could tempt them to join the north London side, as they would likely fill straight in to the first team. With good performances, they could easily keep their position in the side, too.

Arguably Arsene’s greatest attribute as a manager is the chances he gives to his youngsters on the big stage.

Looking abroad is always a good way to find talent that won’t be coveted by the entire Premier League. However, a club will want someone who can slot into a English side. The German Bundesliga is often held up as the most comparable to the Premier League, so why not look there?

These are the TWO Bundesliga youngsters Arsenal should attempt to bring to The Emirates this January…

Julian Brandt

Bayer Leverkusen’s young German winger, Julian Brandt, would be a fine addition for Arsenal this January. A switch to north London would be a very suitable move for the twenty year old star, with Arsene Wenger’s history of dealing with youngsters.

In today’s market, there’s no doubt that Brandt will come at a cost for the London side, but with his best years still ahead of him, the January transfer window could be the best deal a side who sign the winger get.

The tricky winger played a crucial part in Bayer Leverkusen’s Champions League qualification charge last season, scoring four times in the last five games in the Bundesliga – whilst adding three assists for his teammates.

Felix Passlack

Many football fans probably don’t know who this young defender is, and if Wenger did land him in January, many Arsenal fans would be wondering who they have just signed.

Passlack is a hot prospect at German heavyweights Borussia Dortmund. At just eighteen years old, the versatile Germany U19 international has broken into his clubs first team this season. Not only can he play at full-back, both sides, he has also done a very good job at filling in on either wing for his side.

It is always useful to have a player such as Felix in your side, and with Arsenal’s frequent injury problems, the youngster would be a brilliant recruitment.
