Despite signing a new long-term contract in March, Mohamed Elneny’s future at the Emirates is in doubt.

According to reports in The Mirror, Unai Emery is ready to accept offers for the Egyptian in order to trim the Gunners’ wage bill.

The transfer window in England is closed but French clubs can still sign players until the end of the month.

And Marseille are the team being tipped to sign the defensive midfielder who might be available after seeing Arsenal increase competition for places in their midfield this summer

Elneny appeared for Egypt in this summer’s World Cup, but the 26 year-old’s returned to the Arsenal squad with two new midfielders for competition.

Matteo Guendouzi impressed Arsenal fans in last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Man City. Meanwhile, big things are also expected of £26m Lucas Torreira who starred for Uruguay this summer.

It is thought that Elneny’s new deal in March would see the Gunners extract considerably more from any permanent transfer this month.

Gooners, sell or keep Elneny? Let us know in the comments…
