Arsenal star hammered for ‘horrendous’ defending
Arsenal are still searching for their first League Cup triumph under Arsene Wenger following a 3-0 defeat to Man City on Sunday.
The Gunners seemingly arrived at Wembley without a game plan and their feeble attempt to stop Pep Guardiola’s side was routinely navigated by the league leaders.
From the moment City made the breakthrough, the match was academic – not least due to the manner in which Sergio Aguero was able to race through one-on-one with David Ospina. The Argentinian nudged Mustafi in the build-up to the goal and the German’s ludicrous appeals for a free-kick were in vain.
Arsene Wenger has dropped the German in the past and Mustafi could be benched for the Gunners visit of Man City in the Premier League on March 1.
