Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has responded to the rumours he’s set to quit the club.

The goalscorer started his first under new boss Unai Emery for Saturday’s 3-2 win at Cardiff.

Partnering Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up top, the Frenchman and the Gabonese star grabbed their first strikes of the new season.

Lacazette, who scored 17 times in his debut season for Arsenal, was left out of the France squad that won the World Cup this summer.

He’s been suggested to be targeting a quick exit after just one year at Emirates. But following his superb striker at Cardiff, the 27-year-old has spoken out, confirming that he is enjoying life in north London.

“I don’t know who said this stuff, but I am at one of the best clubs in London and I am happy at Arsenal,” Lacazette said (via The Star)

“It’s always going to be hard to be in the first XI at a club like this, but I always keep fighting and working.

“I won’t play every week just because of one game.

“Every day I have to work and show the coach I work well and I deserve my place.”

Arsenal face a trip to Newcastle after the upcoming international break.
