Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney trained with the first-team on Thursday for the first time this season.

Both have been out of action some time, as has Rob Holding, who is ready for selection having played for the U23 side in recent weeks in order to get back to match fitness.

Former Celtic defender Tierney underwent a hernia operation several months ago and is still yet to make his Gunners debut. The Scotsman, 22, is not expected to be involved at Vicarage Road.

Neother is -back Bellerin, who has been out of action since January after he ruptured his knee ligaments in the 2-0 win against Chelsea.

Bellerin and Tierney could play some part in the Carabao Cup tie against Nottingham Forest on September 24 as well as the Europa League clash against Standard Liege on October 3.
