Arsenal Supporters’ Trust vote on Wenger’s position

Arsenal have lost 7 times since the turn of the year

The Arsenal Supporters’ Trust are to present the findings for their latest survey to Ivan Gazidis in which 88% of fans have called for Arsene Wenger to be sacked this summer.

The Gunners lost their 10th game of the season and fourth on the spin in their 2-1 defeat to Brighton last weekend.

Wenger’s position has come under extreme scrutiny, perhaps the worst of his career with just 7% of the 1000 members showed support for the Gunners boss.

The club are set to miss out on a top four spot in the Premier League and now relying on winning the Europa League to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Wenger signed a two-year deal last summer and has reaffirmed his desire to remain in charge of the club.

And while he continues to make the club profit, it appears majority owner Stan Kroenke is satisfied with the job the Frenchman is doing.

Gooners have called for Wenger’s dismissal

Chief executive Ivan Gazidis is due to hold a fans forum meeting at Emirates Stadium ahead of Sunday’s home game against Watford with several AST members among those set to attend. An AST spokesperson told Standard Sport: “This poll of Arsenal fans shows the overwhelming view is that Arsene Wenger should leave the club this summer.

“The responses to our survey showed huge affection and respect for Arsene but also the view that he is no longer taking Arsenal forward.

“Our message to the club is that they must be proactive and take the decision sooner rather than later.
