Arsenal could miss out on Cengiz Under with Bayern Munich now favourites to sign the Roma midfielder.

That’s according to the player’s former president Abdullah Avci.

The Gunners were said to have made £26million offer for Under this past summer, however this was rebuffed, with his current side Roma reportedly holding out for £44million.

Now the Turkish winger who has netted once and assisted two in Serie A this season has been tipped to join Bayern Munich.

Speaking to TRTSpor he said: “Yes, it’s true there is some interest for Cengiz. It’s normal that the clubs like Tottenham and United are showing interest for him because the kid is a good footballer.”

Under joined Roma last year for a fee of €14m after impressing for Super Lig side Istanbul Basaksehir where his nine goals and seven assists helped Basaksehir mounted an unlikely title challenge.

However, his good form would potentially see both Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United left disappointed.

“Bayern Munich are keeping a close eye on Cengiz,” Mehmet Ozkan told Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by Football Italia.

“All I can say is that he could move for a lot of money.”
