Arsenal are eyeing targets from the Premier League for their summer activity as they eye major improvements, The Telegraph reports.

The Gunners need a serious revamp this summer if they are to establish themselves as contenders next season and Premier League names are amongst their targets- particularly in central midfield and in goal.

Goalkeeping targets for Arsenal include Leicester City hero Kasper Schmeichel, son of legendary Manchester United stopper Peter, Sunderland’s England U21 regular Jordan Pickford and Stoke City’s highly-rated Jack Butland.

One of the most expensive summer recruits could be in midfield though as it’s stated Arsenal have joined the hunt for Everton ace Ross Barkley, who has been warned he will be sold this summer if he does not pen a new deal.

With the future’s of both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere under scrutiny, Arsenal may need to bolster their midfield ranks and, crucially, will need to improve their home-grown contingent at the Emirates Stadium.

Barkley, 23, is also a target for North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur but the Gunners may be able to offer more regular football, especially if they fail to keep the likes of Mesut Ozil, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Wilshere at the club.

Would Barkley be a good signing? Join our forum and have your say with fellow fans!
