Arsenal are not prepared to let Alexis Sanchez leave on the cheap this summer and will demand close to £50m for his services, The London Evening Standard reports.

Alexis is rapidly approaching the final 12 months on his current deal with Arsenal and negotiations on an extension have been put on hold until the end of the season, whilst the Gunners chances of reaching a positive outcome look bleak.

Arsenal have endured a terrible few months of form after losing an astonishing six of their last nine games across all competitions, exiting the Champions League after a 10-2 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich and slipping to sixth in the Premier League table.

A host of top-sides are keen to use this to their advantage and land the signature of Arsenal’s two-time Copa America winner in the close season but The Daily Mail states the Gunners will block a transfer to a Premier League rival.

That still leaves plenty of options open for Alexis as the former Barcelona man has been linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and Sevilla over the course of recent months.
