Arsenal to go head-to-head with Premier League rival for European starlet

Arsenal will venture into the transfer market to do battle with a Premier League rival for the services of one European starlet, according to reports from the continent.

The Daily Star, citing reports from Spanish outlet Don Balon, state Arsenal and Manchester United are set to test Real Madrid’s resolve by launching offers for Spanish starlet Marco Asensio.

21-year-old Asensio enjoyed a terrific breakthrough year last season, scoring ten times in 38 appearances, but faces a huge battle for football next season due to competition with the likes of Gareth Bale and Isco to compete with.

Real Madrid want to keep the developing ace within their superstar squad but keeping the youngster content with regular playing opportunities may be difficult, though it’s unlikely Asensio will push for a move this summer.

Interest on the continent is also believed to be very high as Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also said to be keen on Asensio.
