Arsenal are looking to secure the future of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain by offering the England international a lucrative new deal, The Daily Mirror reports.

Arsene Wenger has made is intention for all five players to pen new deals clear and Oxlade-Chamberlain could be the first one to secure his future, in a new deal worth around £100k-a-week that will put the 25-year-old amongst the Gunners’ highest earners.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has fought back from consistent injury issues in recent years to star for Arsenal this term, impressing in central-midfield earlier the season during a period where the North London side saw their midfield ranks severely depleted.

He’s gone on to put in two consecutive Man of the Match performances in Arsenal’s new three-back formation, impressing in the 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough in the Premier League and Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup.

Across all competitions, Oxlade-Chamberlain is enjoying his best return rate in front of goal and he’s found the consistency that has been lacking in recent years, showing that he can still be crafted into the star that Wenger sees him as.
