Arsenal are expected to pocket £5m on the sale of former academy star Oğuzhan Özyakup.

According to the latest reports in the Turkish media, the midfielder currently at Besiktas has been offered to clubs for €20million.

Ozyakup has established himself as one of the top talents in the Turkey’s top division since making the switch from Arsenal in 2012.

The 24-year-old who signed for a mere £500,000 has a clause in his contract in which Arsenal would receive %30 of the next sell.

If a side meet Besiktas’ asking price in Janaury, the Gunners would have £6million to play with. Though, whether Arsene Wenger uses that unexpected income to reinvest in his side is up for debate.

But after offloading Gabriel and Wojcech Szczesny this summer, winter departures of Mattieu Debuchy and Carl Jenkinson are expected. That would present an influx of cash for the Frenchman to go out and buy in January.
