We have all the latest on Arsenal today (Tuesday February 18) including transfer updates on Alexander Isak, Fabrizio Romano on key contract renewals and Martin Zubimendi.
Newcastle agree to sell Alexander Isak
Newcastle United have agreed to sell Alexander Isak if they receive an offer in excess of €100 million this summer, according to a sensational report in Spain.
The Sweden international has been linked with a host of top clubs across Europe in recent months and Eddie Howe’s side have reportedly accepted that a sale will take place if they fail to qualify for the Champions League and a bid of over €100m is submitted.
That is according to Catalan publication Sport, who have confirmed that Isak is being watched by Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, while Barcelona are also interested in completing a deal for the 25-year-old.

However, Barca’s financial position means that a move for Isak is extremely unlikely unless they are able to negotiate a major sale this summer.
The Newcastle star has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal at St James’ Park and the Magpies have previously been adamant that he isn’t for sale at any price.
But, Isak is determined to play Champions League football next season and Newcastle have now accepted that a sale will take place if they fail in their bid to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition and they receive an offer in excess of €100m, as per Sport.
Isak has scored 19 goals and provided five assists in 29 appearances so far this campaign.
Gunners making contract progress – Fabrizio Romano
Fabrizio Romano also revealed that Arsenal are making good progress in contract talks with Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri.
“First of all, congratulations to Arsenal because producing and trusting young talents like Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri is not easy at all – Premier League football, Champions League football, always be competitive, always be at the best level possible. A lot of pressure, a lot of criticism sometimes in modern football, but Arsenal are trusting their youngsters.
“And now what we can say is that Arsenal are making progress on new contracts for Lewis-Skelly and for Nwaneri. Nwaneri is doing great. Nwaneri is doing fantastic. This boy is incredible. Also Lewis-Skelly. I can guarantee to you that Thomas Tuchel is following these two players for the future of England, especially Lewis-Skelly.

“Maybe in March, he could be already involved in the squad for England national team. It’s not guaranteed yet, but it’s just an idea. What’s important to say about Nwaneri is that the progress on the new contract for him and for Lewis-Skelly is very good in this moment.
“The expectation is to get everything ready very soon. Arsenal are preparing for the future with Nwaneri and with Lewis-Skelly.”
Gunners closing in on Martin Zubimendi
Arsenal are closing in on the summer signing of Martin Zubimendi, but the Real Sociedad star is seeking assurances before shaking hands on the deal.
A report from FootballTransfers claims that Arsenal’s pursuit of Zubimendi is gathering pace, with the midfielder’s representatives set to fly to London this week for further discussions with club officials.
The Gunners have been long-time admirers of the Spanish international and have already held advanced talks regarding a potential summer transfer.
It is understood that Arsenal are prepared to double Zubimendi’s wages and have reached an agreement on a four-year contract.
However, despite the financial and sporting incentives on offer, the 26-year-old remains cautious about the move and is seeking assurances on non-football-related matters before committing to the transfer.
Zubimendi has spent his entire career at Real Sociedad, having come through the club’s academy and establishing himself as one of LaLiga’s most consistent midfielders.
His deep-rooted connection to the San Sebastián-based side, along with his strong ties to the Basque Country, have made the decision to leave a difficult one.
While Arsenal can offer Champions League football, a significant pay rise, and a key role in Mikel Arteta’s midfield, Zubimendi’s hesitation revolves around factors such as lifestyle adjustments, family relocation, and settling into life in England. The midfielder is known to value stability and is keen to ensure that any potential move aligns with his personal and professional ambitions.
Saliba’s shock take on Sesko and co
William Saliba has seemingly urged the Gunners to end their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko and other top strikers by claiming the “best striker in the world” is already at Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s side have been searching for a new centre forward for over 12 months and they are widely expected to secure a big-money signing during the upcoming summer transfer window.
