Arsenal have been told they must find pay a fee in excess of £25million to complete the signing of Yannick Carrasco.
The midfielder’s Chinese club, Dalian Yifang are reluctant to sell their talisman who is desperate to return to Europe.
According to our friends at Football.London, the Belgium international has already agreed personal terms with Unai Emery’s side.
The only stumbling block is the fee itself. Emery has been allocated just £40m to spend in the whole of the summer window – this deal would be a huge chunk of his transfer budget.
A temporary switch for Carrasco would suit the Gunners given their modest £40m transfer budget and would also allow them to reach a figure closer to the reported £8.8m-a-year wage Carrasco currently receives.
Arsenal have also shown an interest in Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser, but no deal is suggested to be close. While Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been linked with a move away and the club could use his potential departure to free up funds.
