Arsenal are keen in bringing Lorenzo Pellegrini to the Emirates, reports in Sky Italy say.

The Roma midfielder had a solid season in the Italian capital,

After failing to break into the first team, the 25 year-old was initially sold by Roma in 2105 to Sassuolo. However, Pellegrini impressed and made a name for himself under coach Eusebio Di Francesco. Roma maintained a buy-back option in his contract and re-acquired him last summer for 10 million euros.

The Italian has since appeared in 40 games for club and country in 2017-18, scoring 3 goals and providing 5 assists.

Arsenal have now placed him as a top target whose current contract contains a £26m release clause.

Unai Emery’s side could also face tough competition from Juventus who are also interested in the player.

Gooners, how many players do Arsenal need to sign in order to challenge for the league next season? Let us know in the comments…
