Ahead of tomorrow’s final Premier League match of the season at home to Everton, I have done a Q&A with one of their supporters. Thank you to Clive for answering the questions! Tomorrow’s referee isĀ Michael Oliver and the kick-off is at 16:00.

How long have you supported Everton?

Since late 1960’s, Alan Ball was my boyhood hero.

What were your hopes and expectations for the 2023/24 season?

Just to avoid relegation, again.

What are your views on your manager?

Perfect manager for the situation Everton find themselves in. Under Sean, Everton will punch above their weight. He has handled a very difficult situation extremely well.

One(s) to watch now and in the future?

Jarrad Branthwaite – has everything you could want in a defender but will probably be sold in the summer.

Random fact about your Club?

Everton were Champions (1915 and 1939) both times before football was stopped for a world war. At least the world seems safe from a third world war for now.

What are your views on the points deductions?

It’s been handled pathetically by the Premier League but the fact that Everton were put in that position is indicative of how badly the club has been run under Farhad Moshiri.

Which were your favourite and least favourite matches involving Everton?

Favourite – Beating Bayern Munich 3-1 at Goodison Park in the semi-finals of the 1984/85 Cup Winners Cup, Least favourite – being at Wembley for the 2009 FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea.

What are your views on VAR?

Hate it, could only have been voted in by people who are not true football fans.

What are your thoughts on Arsenal?

Mikel Arteta has done a brilliant job and they have done incredibly well to take Manchester City all the way.

If you could steal one Arsenal player for your team, who would it be and why?

Martin Odegaard – has everything you could want in a midfielder as well as being a great character and leader.

What is your prediction for this match?

Everton have suffered some terrible end of season defeats at the hands of Arsenal. I expect Arsenal to win but hopefully not a complete rout.
