The critics have licked Arsenal up and down today, although we deserved it, but I hope all the hype doesn’t get to all the Arsenal players heads too much, as this Sunday we are back to the premier league match in which I say will be a very tight affair against Fulham. Last year we beat Fulham twice. We beat them 1 – 0 at their ground after Marlet scored one of the funniest own goals ever, and we beat them 2 – 1 at home, although that was a very tight match and Píres scored right at the death to give us a 2 – 1 win.
I like Fulham as a team, and I think Coleman has been one of the best managers in the Premiership for turning Fulham around the way he has. Who would have thought that they would beat Man utd 3 – 1 at Old Trafford, but they thoroughly deserved it as they all played brilliantly and Man United thought they would some kind of walkover and this is why I hope Arsenal keep their heads down, and play good grit football and finish every chance we can get.
Lauren is out for a month and it was widely being tipped that Wenger was going to call back Volz to Arsenal to bring him into the first team, but he didn’t, and Volz will want to prove a point to Wenger that he is the future Arsenal right back. He has been brilliant this season for Fulham, although I think Wenger should let him stay there for the whole season to gain a lot of crucial experience.
Below is a list of all of Fulham’s key players in my view:
Melbranque – Key Man 1
Saha + Hayles – Key Men 2
Davis + Inamoto – Key Men 3
Knight + Melville + Volz – Key Men 4
Van Der Sar – Key Man 5
In Melbranque, I think Fulham have one of the best midfielders in the premiership, although he will never get enough credit as he deserves coz he plays for Fulham. He has a good shot, can play brilliant passes and works very hard. Saha has also looked very dangerous this season, and he is finally looking like he is filling his potential. Zat Knight kept RVN out for the whole match against Man utd at Old Trafford and has played very well this season.
Hopefully, if there are no new injuries this is the best team line up I would go with:
Lehmann
Touré Campbell Cygan Cole
Ljungberg Parlour Edu Píres
Bergkamp/Kanu Henry
Cygan played very well against Inter Milan, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Keown given a start to help his fitness. Kanu also played well yesterday, but Bergkamp has had a nice one-week rest, after a brilliant performance against Birmingham and will be itching to show Wenger that it wasn’t a one off.
I hope Arsenal can round off a good week, by beating Fulham.
