Mesut Ozil and Nacho Monreal are expected to be fit for Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first leg with Valencia – after Arsenal’s three straight Premier League defeats.

German playmaker Ozil, 30, has recovered form a bruised foot while 33-year-old Spain defender Monreal should be fine for the Emirates clash after suffering a calf injury.

Aaron Ramsey remains injured. Shkodran Mustafi could start as he returns to the Mestalla for the first time since leaving for Arsenal in 2017.

Arsenal are into the last four following a 3-0 aggregate win over Napoli

The Gunners are currently reeling after losing four of their last five Premier League matches – a run that includes three straight losses at the hands of Crystal Palace, Wolves and Leicester in which they conceded no fewer than nine goals.

Valencia, 6th in La Liga, look unlikely to reach the Champions League next season via a top four finish, so the Spanish outfits hopes rest on a Europa League triumph.

The southern east coast side also go into the game in poor form having lost their last two league games.
