Arsenal under-23s’ skipper Robbie Burton has left the club in a shock move to Dinamo Zagreb.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who captained the youth side eight times this season, has been at Arsenal’s academy since the age of six.

Burton made the bench for Arsenal’s Carabao Cup campaign but failed to register a first-team appearance.

The Wales U21 international confirmed his departure via Twitter on Tuesday, posting: ‘I would like to say thank you to everyone at Arsenal who have helped me and made me the player I am today (sic).

‘To leave a club that means so much to me is hard but the right decision for my career. I wish the club all the best in the future.’

He made 31 appearances for the North Londoners under-23s after making 33 for the under-18s.

We wish Robbie the best of luck following his departure.
