Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger has been honoured with a lifetime achievement award.

The Gunners hero spent 22 years at the helm of  Arsenal and has been recognised for his dedication to football.

The ceremony celebrated the outstanding sporting achievements of 2018 – and the Gunners great was honoured back in France.

In his tenure as Arsenal boss, Wenger won a record seven FA Cups and three Premier League titles, including navigating his side to survive a league season without losing a single game.

An emotional Wenger said on stage (via Mirror): “When human beings at their best meet sport at its best, life becomes art.”

The boss has been out of work since May and has been linked with several roles, both manager and board – he spoke about what next for him.

“My future is unknown – even for me,” he said.

“I enjoy daily life now and I have been travelling a lot recently all over the world.

“I am enjoying a little bit less pressure. And more freedom as well. But I miss the competition.”
