According to reports from German publication, Sport Bild, Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, must promise midfielder, Mesut Ozil two things in order to agree a new contract.

The first stipulation is that the Germany international must wear the No.10 shirt, previously occupied by on-loan Jack Wilshere, from next season. Something which, although a little hard on the outcast midfielder, is easily achievable.

However, the second requirement goes against the grain a little. The 27-year-old wants to see more big names come strolling through the doors at The Emirates.

Despite the additions of Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi over the summer, that marquee striker signing did not materialise. No matter what happens with Perez, we pray all good, he was not the big money man we were all hoping for.

In order to finalise a deal for the ‘Assist King’, which has long been a priority for Wenger, he will have to open up the coffers and splash the cash on more big signings in order to land Ozil some silverware.
