Arsenal are expected to offer Mohamed Elneny a new contract.

The midfielder who arrived at the Emirates in January 2016 has appeared just 24 starts in the Premier League, with a further 23 coming in all competitions.

Elneny is currently back up to Granit Xhaka as a holding midfielder, but could prove more valuable amid the uncertainty surrounding Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.

The Egyptian still has over two years to run on his current deal at the Emirates. The Gunners had previously been open to offers for the 25-year-old but according to Sports Molethere has been a change of heart.

Should Arsene Wenger remain in charge beyond this season, the Gunners boss is expected continue to revamp his squad in the summer.

Arsenal have allowed several first-team players to leave in the previous two transfer windows. However, Elneny doesn’t appear to be a player they are willing to part with.
