Atletico Madrid have reached a deal to sign Monaco forward Thomas Lemar, reports say.
The Frenchman emerged as one of Europe’s best talents in the last 18 months.
Lemar came close to a move to Arsenal during last summer’s transfer deadline day. Monaco accepted the £92m offer, but the player pulled out of a move to the Emirates at the very last minute.
The forward has also attracted interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.
However, despite the final terms of the transfer have not been completed it seems certain Lemar will soon be an Atletico player, moving for a fee reported to be around £55million.
After raking in nine goals and ten assists in 2016/17, the 22 year-old enjoyed a less fruitful season last time out. Lemar scored just twice in Ligue 1, but did provide eight assists to his teammates.
