Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mhkitaryan are causing ‘growing resentment’ in the Arsenal dressing room.
Reports say that the former Borussia Dortmund star pay disparity has unsettled a number of first-team members.
Aubameyang, who arrived for a club-record £55m fee in January has struggled for form, as has Mkhitaryan who is yet to get on the scoresheet for the Gunners.
The Gunners are on a baron rum themselves, having lost seven of their previous 11.
Auba and Mkhi are on weekly wages of £200,000 and £180,000 a week respectively, while Mesut Ozil penned a new deal worth £350,000 in January too.
There are growing concerns that Aaron Ramsey will follow in the footsteps of Ozil and Sanchez by refusing to sign a new deal. The Welshman’s contract expires at the end of next season and he could hold the club hostage in a similar fashion to Ozil.
Gooners, should the pay gap be testing Arsenal’s team spirit? Let us know in the comments…
