Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has postponed talks over a new contract with the club, The Mirror report.

The Gunners striker is suggested to be holding out on a contract extension as he scopes out Barcelona’s interest.

Aubameyang’s current deal expires in the summer of 2021 and with Arsenal currently set to miss out on another season of Champions League football, the 31 year-old is weighing up his options.

Mirror Sport claim he is keen to wait and discover the Barca’s level interest before resuming talks over an Arsenal extension.

Auba was recently named captain at The Emirates following Grant Xhaka being stripped of the armband.

The Gabon international has made another fast start to the season with eight Premier League goals. He recently chalked up his 50th strike for Arsenal.

His departure would be a big loss for the Gunners, but the rumours are the club have agreed to listen to offers at the end of the season if they miss out on the top four and he decides his future lies elsewhere.
