Arsneal legend Ian Wright is convinced Arsenal fans should not compare Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with Alexis Sanchez.
The ace striker arrived for £55m on transfer deadline day and kick started his Arsenal career with a debut goal against Everton.
Aubameyang, 28, is now the club’s record signing and could be viewed as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez who left for Manchester United last month.
But Wright strongly believes supporters should not compare the Aubameyang’s abilities to that of former Gunner Sanchez.
The Gunners legend told Radio 5 Live: “It’s been mentioned about Aubameyang not having enough touches in matches.
“He can get away with that.
“If he stays right at the top there and let him get on with it, then why do you want touches when you’ve got [Mesut] Ozil, Mkhitaryan and all those players?
“You can stay on the edge and not touch it.
“If Arsenal can play to his strengths, he’s that kind of player who could have four touches and score four goals.”
Arsenal fans will be keen to see Aubameyang continue his bright start to life at the Emirates. Should they feature, both the Gabon international and Mkhitaryan will experience their first north London derby.
