Bayern Munich have signed Croatia winger Ivan Perisic on a one-year loan from Italian club Inter Milan.

The 30 year-old arrives as someone who can fill part of the void left by Arjen Robben (retired) and Frank Ribery (unattached).

Perisic had been seriously linked with a switch from Inter to Arsenal in January, but a deal for the talented winger never materialised.

His eight goals and three assists for the Serie A side helped secure Champions League football for Inter last season.

Bayern had previously been interested in Manchester City winger Leroy Sane. However, the Germany international serious knee ligament injury during City’s Charity Shield win earlier this month and is expected to miss the majority of the season.

Their decision to sign Perisic on a season-long loan comes with an option to buy.

His compatriot and new manager Niko Kovac is still looking to strengthen a position that also includes former Gunner Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman.
