Arsenal have suffered a blow in the pursuit of Thomas Lemar with the Monaco winger deciding he would rather play for Liverpool.
The 22 year-old was the subject of a £92m bid from the Gunners last summer, to which was turned down by the Ligue 1 side.
Lemar’s failed move consequently saw the collapse of Alexis Sanchez’s proposed £60m switch to Manchester City.
According to Yahoo Sports, Lemar is now ready to snub Arsene Wenger’s side in favour of Liverpool.
Manchester United have also been linked with Lemar, but the winger is set to step in for Philipe Coutinho at Anfield.
It means Arsenal will have to hunt down another player to replace Sanchez who is expected to leave the Emirates at the end of the season.
Arsenal could turn to Lemar’s France international teammate, Nabil Fekir. The Lyon star has been in sensational form, netting 13 Ligue 1 goals so far this season.
