If Arsenal fans were already feeling bitter about watching other English sides in the Champions League, then that was multiplied by watching one of their reported prime targets Steven N’zonzi boss Man Utd.
The Gunners have been linked with the Frenchman for some time and were suggested to be readying a bid for the Sevilla midfielder back in January.
N’zonzi showed his very best for the La Liga side who beat Jose Mourinho’s side 2-1 to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The 29 year-old former Stoke City man was dropped by ex-boss Eduardo Berizzo at the close of 2017, but has enjoyed a resurgence under his new manager Vincenzo Montella.
With Granit Xhaka continuing to struggle at the heart of the midfield, Arsenal supporters have urged their club to reignite their chase of the Frenchman in the summer:
Take a look at what they had to say on Twitter…
Steven N'zonzi was everything a DM should be for Seville tonight; protecting the back 4; breaking up play ; calm & composed on the ball making 94 successful passes ; highly influential in central-mid-field. At 29, he may be too old for Arsenal; but he was everything we lack.

Said it for years Arsenal should get N’zonzi, perfect fit for them and he is a very very good player. Proved it tonight.

Arsenal missed a big opportunity to sign N'Zonzi in January. If I remember correctly the player wanted a move as well.
