Calum Chambers has been outstanding so far this season.

The defender is yet to suffer defeat in a game he’s started this season and there’s no doubt he’s returned to The Emirates better than ever.

Calum Chambers celebrates Arsenal’s comeback win at home to Villa

With Arsenal having conceded 10 goals in six Premier League outings, that sort of form may mean that Unai Emery starts looking for alternative options at the back.

Both Sokratis and David Luiz are under severe pressure from Chambers after a tough start to the season.

Despite winning Player of the Season at Fulham in 2018/19, the Englishman’s Arsenal career looked over when returning to the side from his season-long-loan.

Fortunately now, it seems Emery has a ready-made replacement at both right-back and at centre-half; Calum Chambers’ recent Instagram post makes a serious case for him starting for the Gunners.

“Wherever I am put I will give everything I’ve got,” Chambers said after Sunday’s win over Aston Villa.

“It is just about giving everything I can for the team and helping where I can, and making the most of the opportunities I get.”

Arsenal rarely keep clean sheets these days, but the fact of the matter is that on the three occasions that they have managed to keep the opposition out – versus Eintracht Frankfurt, Newcastle United and Forest – Chambers has started.

Gooners, is it time for Chambers to become a regular in the Premier League? Let us know in the comments…
