Arsenal narrowly missed out on qualifying for the 2019/20 Champions League after finishing just one point behind their North London rivals, Tottenham.

Arsenal were sat in fourth for four of the last nine game weeks, but their poor away form ending up costing them dear with losses at Wolves, Everton and Leicester. Also, a shock home loss (only their second home defeat in the league all season) to Crystal Palace certainly didn’t help.

The Gunners lost three of their last six Premier League matches while drawing one and winning two.

They are currently the sixth favourite to finish in the top four next season, with the best price at 11/8 with Skybet. Claim exclusive sign up offers at BettingLounge today!

Arsenal also missed out on CL qualification after losing the Europa League Final in Baku 4-1, against another London rival in Chelsea.

But, if Arsenal fail to finish in the top four again next season, they can still qualify through winning the Europa League.

The Gunners are currently best priced at 6/1 with Paddy Power and Betfair to win the Europa League next season. They are the second favourites after Manchester United, who are best priced at 9/2.

However, if Arsenal are to see success next season, they will have to improve their current squad and their poor performances on the road.

Arsenal lost eight games away from home last season while drawing four and winning seven. They conceded 35 goals compared to just 16 at the Emirates Stadium.

Improving their defence should be seen as a priority next season, and as usual, the Gunners have been linked to plenty of players already. But, Unai Emery only has £45m to rebuild the squad this summer according to the Daily Mail.

If that is the case, Arsenal will have a tough job improving their squad in today’s market. But, Unai Emery is a capable manager, if they improve on the road, trim the squad and back his signings, a top-four finish is more than possible.
