According to The Sun, Carlo Ancelotti is set to be sacked and replaced by Gennarro Gattuso as Napoli boss.

It would mean the Italian who’s been linked with a move back to the Premier League would be free to take over at Arsenal or Everton.

AncelottiĀ is under severe pressure at Napoli after nine games without a win in all competitions.

Napoli have dropped to seventh in Serie A, eight points adrift of the nearest Champions League place.

It is likely the former Chelsea boss will be dismissed if his side fail to beat Genk on Tuesday and crash out of the Champions League.

Freddie Ljungberg stepped up his claim for the full-time head coach role after Arsenal came from behind to beat West Ham on Monday night.

Ljungberg does lack senior management experience and the board may be inclined to turn to Ancelotti to steady the ship.
