Danny Murphy has suggested that Manchester City sign Jack Wilshere this summer.
The midfielder could be snapped up for free if he fails to agree to a new deal. Arsenal are said to have offered Wilshere a new contract, though it’s reportedly £20,000 less than his current £110,000-a-week.
And Murphy believes Wilshere would be a good signing for Manchester City.
The England midfielder is said to have interest from Everton, however Murphy suggested to Talksport earlier he could aim as high as Manchester City when it comes to finding new employment.
“If you’re talking about someone who can play in a holding role (and) attack midfield, and an Englishman who’s on a free – Jack Wilshere,” said the former Liverpool and England midfielder.
City have just been crowned Premier League champions for the third time. Pep Guardiola has hailed Wilshere’s credentials in the past, yet whether his side are ready to make a move for the 26 year-old remains unclear.
As the summer looms, it seems Wilshere could end his 17-year association with the club.
