Peterborough United director of football Berry Fry has revealed Arsenal were among a trio of Premier League clubs interested in signing Ricky-Jade Jones.
However, the trio were all told the 17 year-old striker was not for sale.
Jones has made just two starts and eight substitute appearances in League One for Peterborough so far this season.
The teenage has shown great promise, but for now Fry wants him to develop at the Posh.
Fry told The Peterborough Telegraph: “We had more clubs interested in Ricky in January than we did in Ivan Toney. They were all after him.
“United, Liverpool, Arsenal, but we told them all the same thing and that it was a waste of time bidding as we were determined to hold on to him.
“For one he is going to be a very good player for us and secondly he will be worth a lot more money a few years down the line.”
Arsenal are also said to eying a move on Adam Lallana. The midfielder is set to leave Liverpool at the end of his contract this summer.
north London rivals Tottenham are also interested in the 31 year-old.
