Arsene Wenger remains interested in former Arsenal trialist, Marcelo Allende, who is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his compatriot and Gunners star, Alexis Sanchez, according to reports from The Sun.
The 17-year-old Chilean, who plays for the South American side Cobreloa, where the current Arsenal No.7 also began his career.
Allende, who caught the eye of Wenger when on trial at the London Colney complex before returning home to join Sanchez’ former side.
The highly rated youngster also captains the Chilie U17’s national side and has maintained the interest from North London with good performances at national level.
The attacking midfielder reportedly asked advice from the man who he wants to follow to The Emirates and was told by the former Barcelona man, who has scored 47 goals in 102 appearances since move from the Catalan club, that he should be working in the gym in order to cope with the physicality of the Premier League.
