Danny Mills says both Arsenal and Manchester United are missing out on an “absolute bargain” if they don’t pursue a deal for Toby Alderweireld.

The Tottenham centre-back is reported too have a release clause comes that comes to an end this week – with July 25th the cut-off point for clubs to trigger a move.

And Mills doesn’t understand how any of the big sides, including the Gunners and Man Utd have failed to target the Belgian international.

“Let’s say he plays another three seasons, that’s around £8million-a-year,” Mills told Football Insider .

Clubs have less than a week to snap up Alderweireld on the cheap

“People are paying loan fees of £8million-a-year, he’s a ready-made player. It’s an absolute bargain. How Manchester United are not coming and banging down the door, how Arsenal are not banging down the door and saying we want this player, I have no idea.

“£25million for a ready-made centre half who is going to get you through the next three seasons and bring on other players around them, it’s a no-brainer for me. People will say you’re going to lose money, yeah you are but you’re going to do that if you bring loan players for me.”

Since arriving at Spurs in 2015, Alderweireld has formed a formidable partnership with Jan Vertonghen. Sp*rs had the third best defence in the Premier League last season as they clinched another year of Champions League football.
