We’re into the final day of the summer transfer window and it’s unfortunate shaping up to be a day to forget for Arsenal fans, with the club set to lose many players and looking extremely unlikely to make any major signings.

The fall-out from Sunday’s heavy 4-0 defeat to Liverpool has led to many exits and numerous pieces of speculation, with Kieran Gibbs sealing a £7m switch to West Brom yesterday and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joining Jurgen Klopp’s side- although that deal is still not confirmed but there’s been numerous leaked images.

Whilst those sales give Arsenal a return of around £47m, it’s understood that the Gunners are not seeking replacements for either players and there has even been suggestions that the North London side don’t have the money to make further signings- which is pretty incredible considering we’ve chased Thomas Lemar all summer and even expressed a desire to sign Kylian Mbappe.

Rather than getting excited about who Arsenal could bring in today, the concerns instead orientate around who could leave and what the state of Arsene Wenger’s squad will look like tomorrow morning, as numerous big names are linked with an exit.

Shkodran Mustafi‘s move to Inter Milan seems to have collapsed as Arsenal cannot find a replacement, which is a concern as it means that the Gunners are left with a defender who seemingly doesn’t want to be here and isn’t considered to be good enough, whilst the likelihood is Alexis Sanchez will also move.

Arsenal have been extremely vocal all summer regarding their Chilean superstar, insisting he’s not for sale, but the attitude has changed in the aftermath of the defeat to Liverpool and an exit is now being considered, as long as the Gunners can find a replacement.

Manchester City have sent an entourage to South America and seem optimistic of completing a transfer, with suggestions that Arsenal will sell for around £70m, but the Gunners are keen to ensure they land a replacement before any move takes place.

Leicester City ace Riyad Mahrez has been given permission to leave Algeria’s training camp to sort out a transfer, but Arsenal are not in for the former PFA Player of the Year, and there is reported interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler.

Whether a move materialises remains to be seen but Arsenal can expect to see other names leave the Emirates Stadium today, as the club continue to try to push both Mathieu Debuchy and Lucas Perez out of the exit door.
