Arsenal target Stephan Lichsteiner has revealed no deal is close for him to move in at the Emirates.

The Juventus defender is available on a free transfer once his Juve deal runs out on July 1.

Lichsteiner has been reported as Arsenal bound for several days, but the Switzerland international has told journalists that he’s yet to agree a move.

As reported by TEAMtalk, 34-year-old said: “Nothing is finished yet. I cannot comment on the negotiations.

“As long as nothing is completed, that is always interesting in football. I think we all know that.

The right-back was speaking from his country’s World Cup training camp and revealed that his saga could run post tournament.

Arsenal are however closing in on a deal for Sokratis Papastathopolous after the Borussia Dortmund defender underwent a medical on Monday.

The Greek defender is expected to cost the Gunners £16m of their reported £50m budget.
