So does José Antonio Reyes want to leave or not?
If Arsenal are the only team on his mind, why is he saying that featuring in the Champions League qualifying match next week will damage his chances of a move to Real Madrid?
Reyes is reported as saying: “Obviously, if I do (play), it will make a move to Real more difficult. But if I have, I will play.”
“The manager (Arsène Wenger) hasn’t said anything to me and I don’t know if I am going to play or not.
“I hope I don’t or that everything will be resolved before then.”
Reyes has never hidden his desire of playing for Real Madrid, coming out with statements such as: “I have always said that Madrid is one of my biggest targets. Everyone knows it.
“Clubs are looking for me but the only way that any team, including Madrid, can sign me is by speaking to Arsenal.”
I love the player, and I think his potential is immense.
Arsène Wenger himself has gone through so much trouble to bring Reyes to Arsenal, and was ecstatic that Reyes had agreed to a move to Arsenal.
But if he wants to leave, there’s no point holding on to him.
Let’s just make sure we get a sizeable amount of cash for his sale.
