Arsenal are a step closer to securing their second signing of the summer after reportedly agreeing a £26m fee with Saint Etienne over defender William Saliba.
The 18 year-old centre-back is expected to remain in France for another season with Arsenal willing to allow him to be loaned straight back to Saint Etienne.
Saliba made 16 appearances during his debut Ligue 1 campaign after breaking into the first-team in late September.
It all means that Unai Emery is likely to bring in further reinforcements at the back this summer following a miserable defensive season in 2018/19.
Saliba, who is suggested to be keen to remain in France for a further year, would remain a regular for Saint Etienne and therefore a season-long loan back to St Etienne could therefore suit all parties.
The delay in officially securing his services may mean paying the majority of the fee until next year, giving them more to spend on other targets.
